About the role

For our client, we are seeking a Head Of Data to join the team of a leader in the Information Technology space. This leader will own the strategy and execution of the company’s data foundation, ensuring the organization has reliable, well-modeled, and trusted information to support decision-making. The role combines hands-on technical leadership with team management, with a strong focus on building scalable pipelines, improving data quality, and creating a self-serve data environment. This person will partner closely with engineering, product analytics, AI, and finance stakeholders to align data infrastructure with business needs. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available.

Pay

$195,000 – $213,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and manage data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes for the data warehouse.
• Establish a trusted data layer with validation, observability, and consistent metrics.
• Create and maintain a definitions library for standardized data terms.
• Set data contracts for internal AI and programmatic access, ensuring clarity and reliability.
• Serve as the source of truth for business and finance data across departments.
• Support product analytics and AI teams by aligning data infrastructure with their needs.
• Lead a small team while actively contributing to technical work and growing the function.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of experience building and running production data pipelines into cloud data warehouses.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and Python, with skills in orchestration and warehouse modeling.
• Experience creating a self-serve data layer with tests, observability, and documentation.
• Proven track record of defining data contracts and holding engineering partners accountable.
• Experience shipping AI/ML solutions to production, with a focus on impactful ideas.
• Background in reconciling finance and analytics data for leadership decision-making.
• Experience as a founding technical leader in scaling data capabilities.
