Head of Audit, Risk, and Compliance

Location: San Francisco, CA – US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $216,000 – $480,000 annually

This role will support financial strategy, forecasting, and performance management initiatives that strengthen business visibility and decision-making. You will partner with executive leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to improve planning processes, financial discipline, controls, and resource allocation. Responsibilities

• Define and implement a multi-year global strategy for Audit, Risk, and Compliance
• Own the SOX and ICFR readiness strategy and internal audit plan with actionable insights
• Manage the global regulatory compliance roadmap including fintech-specific requirements
• Drive modernization of compliance operations through technology and automation
• Embed compliance controls into business workflows while ensuring effective remediation
• Recruit and develop a high-performing, multi-disciplinary team and advise the C-suite on risk governance

Qualifications

• 12+ years of leadership experience in internal audit, SOX, enterprise risk, and compliance within high-growth tech or fintech environments
• Deep knowledge of SOX/ICFR, risk management frameworks, and regulatory compliance
• Experience with auditing automated controls and understanding technology's impact on financial data integrity
• Proven ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into efficient operational processes
• Strong executive presence for communicating technical risk concepts to C-suite and Board
• A builder mindset, capable of designing compliant processes that allow for operational speed
