Head Middle School Girls Basketball Coach - 2026/2027

About the role

Propel Schools is seeking a Head Middle School Girls Basketball Coach for the 26-27 season starting this Winter at one of the following locations: Propel Braddock Hills Middle School, Propel East, Propel Hazelwood, Propel Homestead, Propel McKeesport, Propel Montour Middle School, Propel Northside, or Propel Pitcairn.

Responsibilities

• Assembling a coaching staff
• Coordinating a middle school basketball program with the coaching team and/or athletic director
• Implementing off-season programs in accordance with WPIAL/PIAA regulations
• Attending all required PIAA preseason coaching meetings and mandatory coaching certification/trainings in compliance with PIAA regulations

Requirements

• Prior Middle School, Varsity and/or Junior Varsity Basketball coaching experience
• Up-to-date TB Test
• Act 34 Criminal Clearance
• Act 114 FBI Clearance
• Act 151 Child Abuse Clearance
• Mandated Reporter Training

Qualifications

• Experience as a head coach
• Playing experience
• Demonstrated ability to build a successful program starting at the middle school level
• High level of personal organization and planning
• Strong communication and relationship building skills
• Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development
• Commitment to the Propel Habits

Season Information

The 2026-2027 Middle School Girls Basketball season is scheduled to begin on January 4th, 2027 and is anticipated to conclude in March, although the season may end earlier/later depending on if the team participates in postseason.

Pay

This position includes a seasonal stipend of $1,750, which will be prorated for coaches who begin after the official start of the season.
