About the Role
Under the supervision of the Principal and the Assistant Principal of Athletics and Facilities, instruct student-athletes in the fundamentals of badminton and assume responsibility for the planning, organization, and implementation of the assigned athletic program.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a disciplined badminton program.
- Demonstrate knowledge of fundamental and advanced techniques for competitive athletes.
- Plan and organize practices; direct the activities of assistant coaches.
- Supervise athletes during practices, competitions, and travel.
- Develop and foster working relationships with students, parents, staff, and the community.
- Demonstrate knowledge of A-G course requirements for Division 1 Athletics.
- Follow District Policies, site procedures, and CIF rules and procedures.
- Foster training in conduct, ethics, and sportsmanship for participants.
- Assist participants in the development of physical and leadership skills.
- Plan and implement tryouts ensuring equal opportunities, fairness, consistency, and impartiality.
- Supervise the team before, during, and after practices, games, and sporting events.
- Collaborate with administration before ordering equipment.
- Manage safe and organized storage for equipment on campus; distribute, collect, and maintain accurate inventory.
- Maintain open communication with parents.
- Safeguard fiscal responsibilities: prepare budgetary recommendations, monitor, verify, and reconcile expenditures.
- Work closely with the assigned administrator to plan and implement activities and fundraisers.
- Work with Booster organizations and ASB.
Requirements
- Completed online application with listed qualifications.
- Resume.
- No disciplinary action within the last 5 years.
- Experience with rules and regulations pertaining to badminton, league rules, and CIF rules.
- High school varsity level, college playing, and/or coaching experience in badminton.
Prior to Employment
- Current CPR/First Aid/AED Certification and CIF online regulations.
- Current Tuberculosis Test.
- Fingerprint clearance.
- CTC Activity Supervisor Clearance.
- Completion of mandated trainings/courses.
Pay
Single rate stipend of $4,337.00 per season, paid upon completion of the season. Stipend amount may vary up to $4,337.00.
Schedule
Part-time position for the 2026-2027 school year.
