Head Gymnastics Team Coach - Morgan Park Sports Center

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and lead structured team practices focused on skill development, strength, flexibility, and routine preparation
• Coach athletes during practices, competitions, and events
• Adapt coaching techniques to accommodate varying skill levels and individual athlete needs
• Serve as the primary point of contact for athletes and parents regarding: Practice expectations and coaching-related questions, competition schedules, logistics, and preparation, important updates, reminders, and announcements
• Aid in mentoring coaches to ensure consistency in coaching methods and expectations
• Maintain athlete progress and provide feedback on skill development and performance
• Enforce facility policies, team rules, and code of conduct
• Coordinate and prepare athletes for competitions, including routines and expectations
• Monitor and report any maintenance needs for equipment
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and disciplined team culture

Qualifications

• Must possess current CPR certification
• Certified Instructor (USAG/USTA) or equivalent
• Additional specialty/certifications preferred
• Working knowledge of human anatomy, kinesiology, and training principles
• Working knowledge of gymnastics teaching strategies and the incorporation of music, tempo, technique, and rhythm
• Previous gymnastics/tumbling/trampoline teaching or coaching experience
• Professional demeanor and ability to cooperate and work well with other staff members
• Ability to work with limited supervision and as a team member
• Physical requirements include walking, standing, sitting for long hours, lifting up to 50 pounds, and assisting participants

Hours

This position requires the ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays. Able to work specifically on weekday evenings and weekends.
