About the role

Glass House Brands operates one of the largest and most advanced greenhouse cannabis cultivation facilities in the United States, spanning 5.5 million square feet on California's Oxnard Plain. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Implement crop plans, providing input on annual crop plans to the Management Team.
  • Provide yield, crop, and other relevant information to the VP of Cultivation during the budget development process.
  • Identify and optimize growing practices to achieve the highest product quality standards.
  • Develop and test improved methods and equipment to resolve growing issues.
  • Develop and implement growing strategies and tactics plans aligned with the company’s vision and strategic direction.
  • Aid in the design and development of new software programs necessary for the growing department.
  • Oversight of software updates and communication of potential issues related to the growing department.
  • Improve cost efficiency and maximize delivery.
  • Collaborate with operations and site management to ensure smooth workflow and achievement of business plans.
  • Set the highest standards for quality, efficiency, productivity, cooperation, and behavior.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose crop health and damage problems.
  • Maintain computerized greenhouse environments, monitoring irrigation schedules and CO2 settings.
  • Develop and implement fertilization and irrigation programs for different crops.
  • Manage nutrient and environmental systems to maintain specified levels and conditions.
  • Lead greenhouses tours with consultants and growing team personnel.
  • Send water, disease, and tissue samples to a laboratory as needed.
  • Ensure proper crop labor planning and direction.
  • Monitor and evaluate crop work, sanitation, worker hygiene, and practices.
  • Follow up with labor supervisors to address any deficiencies.
  • Jointly with the Operations Manager/Labor Manager, identify and optimize labor priorities for inter-planting periods.

Requirements

  • 5+ years’ experience in a greenhouse environment.
  • 5+ years’ experience in cultivation management.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a management role.
  • Cannabis experience preferred.
  • Able to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Able to maintain a positive attitude.
  • Able to write and communicate effectively with the entire team.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to work in conditions typically found in a greenhouse with high humidity and varying temperatures, with a fair amount of moisture present.
  • Ability to exert up to 15-50 pounds occasionally in order to lift and move product.
  • Ability to balance, reach, grasp while climbing on a step stool and/or ladder.
  • Ability to crouch, grasp and lift product above shoulders in order to lift product from the floor properly.
  • Ability to sit/stand for long periods of time as job duties require.
  • Ability to use required tools to perform job duties.

Summary

This position requires a 40-hour minimum work week, travel may be required, and an authorized work visa is required. The role is open to candidates who are 21 years of age or older and have a clean DMV record. The position also requires bilingual skills and the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
