Key Responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership and management of the Milken Community School golf program 6-12.
- Utilize and oversee the Wolf Family Golf Performance Center, including the TrackMan simulator, performance technology, and putting facilities, to develop individualized training plans, monitor player performance, and support year-round athlete development.
- Utilize objective performance data to evaluate swing mechanics, optimize practice efficiency, monitor player progress, and create individualized training plans.
- Plan, organize, and conduct effective practices that promote individual skill development and team performance.
- Instruct student-athletes on the rules, techniques, strategies, and fundamentals of golf.
- Conduct fair and objective evaluations of student-athletes and make roster, lineup, and playing-time decisions consistent with the goals and philosophy of the program.
- Develop competitive game strategies and make sound coaching decisions during competition.
- Supervise student-athletes during all practices, competitions, and team activities, ensuring a safe and positive environment.
- Collaborate with the Athletic Director to establish practice schedules, competition planning, and program development.
- Serve as a positive role model by demonstrating professionalism, integrity, and exemplary sportsmanship.
- Support the academic achievement and personal development of student-athletes by promoting accountability and balance between athletics and academics.
- Maintain accurate records, including eligibility documentation, emergency information, and other program-related materials.
- Oversee the care, maintenance, inventory, and security of all golf equipment and uniforms.
- Participate in athletic department events, including parent meetings, awards ceremonies, banquets, and other school functions.
- Ensure full compliance with all Milken Community School policies and the regulations of the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF).
- Maintain current knowledge of coaching techniques, player development strategies, and CIF regulations through ongoing professional development.
- Promote and grow the golf program within the school community by engaging prospective student-athletes, alumni, and families.
- Maintain regular and professional communication with student-athletes and families regarding schedules, expectations, program policies, and athlete development.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Athletic Director and the Head of Athletics.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Minimum of three years of successful head coaching experience in golf.
- Skilled in the structure, development, and operation of golf simulation technology, with extensive experience using the TrackMan system.
- Experience coaching or working with high school student-athletes preferred.
- Strong knowledge of golf instruction, player development, competition strategy, and program management.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, faculty, and the broader school community.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, respectful, and supportive team culture.
- Able to exercise sound judgment, make informed decisions, and effectively manage program operations.
- Thorough understanding of safety procedures, risk management, and student-athlete welfare.
Pay
SALARY RANGE: $40 per hour
Hours vary based on season, practices, competitions, tournaments, offseason programming, and other approved athletic department responsibilities.
