Head Girls Wrestling Coach

About the role

Hampshire High School is seeking a highly motivated individual to fill the role of a Head Wrestling Coach with a strong knowledge of Girls Wrestling and program management with a focus on student-athletic achievement.

Responsibilities

• Coach at all levels within the program and various areas within the program
• Enhance, improve, and maximize students' athletic skills required to compete at a high level
• Lead an athletic program for sustained participation and success
• Work with Athletic Department to assure all games, officials, and transportation is scheduled
• Maintain accurate records of equipment for the entire program
• Organize and oversee all program levels and areas of responsibility
• Communicate with Athletic Director to secure facilities to ensure a safe practice/competition environment for students
• Set the philosophy, programmatic instruction of sequential fundamentals, and proper conditioning to maximize the student-athlete experience
• Communicate and plan with assistant coach practice sessions and competition strategies to ensure the health and physical well-being of the student participants
• Coordinate with the Athletic Director all in-season practices
• Assure that all student participants are in compliance with D300 and IHSA requirements
• Model and instill the values of sportsmanship and fair play to all participants, and enforce consequences for breach of such standards
• Attend all student-athlete practices and games, and monitor proper supervision at all practices, games, and on school-provided transportation
• Maintain and provide the athletic director with end-of-season individual and team records and statistics
• Participate in a mandatory preseason parent meeting and head coaching minutes
• Plan for the seasonal student-athlete recognition
• Distribute and collect uniforms and equipment
• Engage in personal professional development activities

Requirements

• Head Wrestling Coaching experience is preferred
• Able to manage all levels within the program and various areas within the program
• Organized, flexible, able to take direction from their direct supervisor, and able to work and communicate with parents and the Booster Club

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of Girls Wrestling and program management with a focus on student-athletic achievement.
