About the role
Permanent full-time opportunity for a Head Gardener to join the Facilities Department at Macquarie Hospital, North Ryde. This role involves managing a team and overseeing the maintenance of lawns, gardens, and general landscaping across the campus.
Responsibilities
- Manage a team while ensuring the maintenance of lawns, gardens, and general landscaping.
- Perform planned and urgent preventative and corrective tasks.
- Complete AFM work dockets, including work feedback, inventory, and general maintenance reports.
- Provide key support to the engineering team as required.
- Manage a varied and busy workload with competing demands and priorities.
- Operate machinery including Commercial Ride-on Mowers and Skid Steer (competency training provided if required).
Requirements
- Holds a valid NSW Driver’s Licence and relevant gardening qualifications.
- Solid understanding of plant species and horticultural practices.
- Effective communication, interpersonal, and computer skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to high standards of customer service.
- Experience in managing and organizing teams.
- Strong knowledge of workplace health and safety, with the ability to implement safe work practices and ensure compliance with WHS policies and procedures.
