Responsibilities

• Lead a dynamic classroom where students with diverse learning needs build confidence, communication skills, and academic growth through engaging and individualized instruction.
• Collaborate with a dedicated multidisciplinary team to create meaningful learning experiences that help students thrive both academically and personally.
• Design and implement engaging English lessons aligned with curriculum goals and differentiated for diverse learning needs.
• Develop individualized goals for each student, monitor progress, and adjust instruction to foster success.
• Collaborate with faculty and administrators to differentiate curricula for all students.
• Create a safe, structured, and supportive classroom environment where students feel valued and empowered to learn.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in English education or a related field from an accredited institution with special education experience preferred
• New York State teaching certification in English Education Grates 7-12 required
• Experience in developing and managing individualized learning goals and monitoring student progress
• Strong communication skills for engaging with students, parents, and staff
• Collaborative mindset with the ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team
