Responsibilities
- Lead a dynamic classroom where students with diverse learning needs build confidence, communication skills, and academic growth through engaging and individualized instruction.
- Collaborate with a dedicated multidisciplinary team to create meaningful learning experiences that help students thrive both academically and personally.
- Design and implement engaging English lessons aligned with curriculum goals and differentiated for diverse learning needs.
- Develop individualized goals for each student, monitor progress, and adjust instruction to foster success.
- Collaborate with faculty and administrators to differentiate curricula for all students.
- Create a safe, structured, and supportive classroom environment where students feel valued and empowered to learn.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in English education or a related field from an accredited institution with special education experience preferred
- New York State teaching certification in English Education Grates 7-12 required
- Experience in developing and managing individualized learning goals and monitoring student progress
- Strong communication skills for engaging with students, parents, and staff
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team
