About the role

The Head Coach Women's Ice Hockey will be responsible for the management and administration of the Women’s Ice Hockey program in alignment with the mission, values, and goals of the Athletics Department.

Responsibilities

  • Create a highly competitive environment with specific responsibilities in recruiting, practice and game planning, developing student-athletes, academic accountability for student-athletes, fiscal responsibility, alumni engagement, scheduling, compliance with policies/procedures/relevant rules, and oversight of assigned staff.
  • Oversee the recruitment and selection of prospective student-athletes. Ensure compliance with all relevant NCAA guidelines pertaining to the recruitment of prospective student-athletes.
  • Provide leadership and instruction in the personal, academic, and athletic development of student-athletes. Monitor the academic progress of student-athletes by working closely with the compliance and academic staff.
  • Arrange for a competitive competition schedule that places the team in a position to qualify for NCAA Championship competition.
  • Supervise assistant coaches and other staff that report to the Head Coach. Assist in fundraising as requested by administration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree preferred.
  • Demonstrated successful leadership experience required.
  • Track record of a strong commitment to a positive student-athlete experience and ensuring student-athlete welfare is paramount.
  • 5-8 years of overall experience preferred.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Experience coaching in intercollegiate athletics.
  • Excellent written, interpersonal, and oral communication skills are required.
  • Must work effectively with faculty, staff, and students from a variety of diverse backgrounds.
