Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage all aspects of the school basketball program.
- Develop, mentor, and train student-athletes through structured practices, strength and conditioning, and individualized skill development plans.
- Implement strategies that support the athletic, academic, social, and spiritual growth of players.
- Build a strong prep-school culture that emphasizes discipline, accountability, and high expectations on and off the court.
- Recruit student-athletes locally, nationally, and internationally, with the ability to evaluate talent and build competitive rosters.
- Create and execute clear pathways that help student-athletes transition to the next level of play.
- Aid players with film, exposure events, showcases, and communication with college recruiters.
Faith Integration & Spiritual Leadership
- Actively participate in the partnering Board of the School Non-denominational church community.
- Support faith-based initiatives, prayer, and spiritual development programming.
- Model Christian values in leadership, relationships, and decision-making.
- Demonstrate a strong spiritual foundation and the ability to integrate faith-based leadership within the athletic program.
- Lead team devotions, prayer, and mentorship in alignment with the school’s Christian values.
- Model Christ-like character, sportsmanship, and servant leadership.
Game & Practice Management
- Plan and execute daily practices, team meetings, and off-season training.
- Develop game strategies, scouting reports, and in-game adjustments.
- Cook up and coordinate game schedules, tournaments, and travel logistics.
- Manage assistant coaches and ensure consistent program expectations.
Qualifications
- Prior experience as a head coach or high-level assistant in a prep school, Middle & high school, college, or elite travel program.
- Demonstrated success in developing players and preparing them for collegiate opportunities.
- Strong relationships with college coaches across all NCAA levels.
- Clear understanding of the recruiting process, NCAA rules, and player exposure strategies.
- Strong spiritual background with the ability to mentor youth through a Christian worldview.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel frequently.
Preferred Skills
- Experience running a full-year prep program or postgraduate team.
- Strength and conditioning or player development certifications.
- Experience hosting showcases, camps, or college recruitment events.
- Ability to drive program growth through branding, marketing, and community engagement.
