Head Coach - Girls Track and Field

Pay

Stipend range: Minimum $5,466 – Maximum $8,510. Placement based on years of coaching experience per the High School Coaches Salary Schedule.

Employee benefits as per Kent School District. Coaching positions are posted as open until filled; applicants who apply within 5 days of initial posting are guaranteed consideration under the Coaches collective bargaining agreement.

Requirements

• Meet district and WIAA requirements, including a valid background check.
• Head coach applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
• Assistant coach applicants must be at least 19 years of age and possess a valid first aid and CPR card.
• Complete the KSD online application process including professional reference forms.
• Annually complete the WIAA general rules clinic, the WIAA‑approved rule clinic for the sport being coached, and the KSD Vector Training requirements prior to the start of the sports season.
• Successfully complete Concussion recognition and management with Return‑to‑Play Protocols training (required by Washington State Law, renewed every three years).
• Successfully complete Sudden Cardiac Arrest Awareness and Training (required by Washington State Law, renewed every three years).
• Before the beginning of the third year of coaching, complete a district‑approved Coaching Principles training, or the NFHS Coaches Fundamentals Course, or all sessions of the WIAA Coaches School, or an equivalent WIAA‑ or district‑approved Coaches School; repeat this training every three years thereafter.
• Building athletic directors will monitor the applicant pool and contact applicants as needed.
• If hired, read and sign the KSD Coaches Manual.
