Starting date: 8/21/2026. This position includes teaching one class period (est. 45-90 days) at the hourly teacher rate, plus a board-approved extra-curricular stipend. A separate teaching position may also be available if qualifications match current openings.
About the role
Candidates should have experience and knowledge in coaching at the high school, all-star, and/or college levels. The mission of the program is to generate school spirit and promote sportsmanship at school athletic and other events, with a balanced emphasis on competitive success. This coaching position does not require a teaching certificate.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate team selection and tryouts
- Run safe and effective practices, addressing the needs of athletes
- Select and prepare the competition team for local and national competitions
- Collaborate with athletes, staff, parents, administration, and support staff to support the school's vision for the team
- Maintain a positive image for the school, community, and team
- Engage in school and community events
- Support and motivate student athletes in their academic studies
- Develop sport-specific skills in athletes and provide constructive individual instruction
- Adhere to state and NFHS safety guidelines, rules, and regulations
- Manage, plan, and budget resources in conformity with Alpine School District regulations and policy (PACE)
- Plan and provide fundraising opportunities for team and individual costs
- Oversee local and out-of-state trips and events beneficial to the team and school
- Maintain team equipment, order uniforms, and gear
- Participate in hiring and instructing assistant coaches
