About the role

The position of Head Coach is responsible for ensuring compliance with WIAA, KINGCO Conference, and Bellevue School District policies. The Bellevue School District is committed to diversity and cultural competency.

Responsibilities

• Overall supervision of program at all levels
• Consistent with district and high school philosophy, goals, and objectives
• Building good sportsmanship and developing good public relations
• Following all rules, policies, and procedures of the League, District, and school
• Preparing public information releases regarding sport
• Complying with WIAA coaching clock hour program
• Keeping abreast of new knowledge, ideas, and techniques relating to sport
• Coordinating scheduling events for sport (non-league contests and tournaments)
• Drafting and submitting a budget for sport and following rules and procedures for incurring and tracking expenditures and revenues
• Organizing, directing, and supervising practice sessions and dressing room facilities
• Ensuring the general health and welfare and safety of athletes
• Administering a student interest survey/evaluation at the conclusion of the season
• Writing an annual report at the end of the season that evaluates program and makes recommendations for improvement
• Assisting in the evaluation of assistant coaches
• Managing assignments and duties of assistant coaches
• Ensuring adherence to rules, procedures, and policies
• Maintaining equipment and facilities
• Attending meetings related to sport
• Leading the team during transportation to and from events

Education & Experience

• High School diploma or equivalent
• At least 19 years of age
• Current first aid and CPR card

Licensing Requirements

• No specific licensing requirements

Physical Requirements

• Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
• May work outdoors in inclement weather
• May require physical mobility to move through a school campus, including up and down stairs and inside and outside

Salary & Benefits

$6,558 for the season. This position is not eligible for benefits.
