Head Cashier

About the role

The Head Cashier oversees a team of cashiers and assists with operational issues. Key responsibilities include ensuring excellent customer service, assisting with customer assistance issues, managing cash register supplies, maintaining cleanliness standards, scheduling breaks, and training new employees.

Responsibilities

• Proactively visit registers and provide direction/support to Cashiers and Courtesy Clerks
• Assist with potential customer assistance issues at the register
• Assign store sweeps, monitor cash register supply levels, and maintain cleanliness standards in restrooms and parking lots
• Maintain visibility of exit doors for security and loss prevention issues
• Schedule and oversee proper execution of meal and rest breaks in compliance with company policy and state requirements
• Aid in the hiring and training of new Cashiers and take necessary disciplinary actions

Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age, high school diploma or GED, and 1-2 years of recent cashiering experience supplemented with leadership training
• Dependable, flexible schedule capable of working nights, weekends, and holidays
• Outgoing, friendly demeanor, positive attitude, and ability to represent as a role model
• Ability to operate front-end equipment, including register, calculator, and scanner
• Good communication skills, ability to take direction, and participate in a team environment
• Ability to lift/carry product horizontally/vertically up to 30 lbs., for distances up to 3 feet for up to 50 hours without mechanical assistance
• Strong attention to detail and proficiency with numbers, including cash handling and mathematical skills

Pay

The pay range for this position is $18.70 - $25.25 / hour. Sprouts Farmers Market determines pay based on applicable experience and qualifications of the applicant.

Schedule

Flexible schedules are offered, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
