Essential Functions
- Train and coach the members of the program in season and off season
- Cookordinate the development and promotion of the program
- Comply with school and school board policies and regulations
- Relate positively to parents and other community representatives
- Provide instruction that will lead to the formulation of moral values, strong work ethic, responsibility, team work, sportsmanship, self-discipline, leadership, and self-confidence
- Has a thorough knowledge of school, conference, TSSAA, and NCAA athletic policies and is responsible for their implementation
- Attend all required meetings and submit all required paperwork in a timely manner
- Maintain discipline and work to increase morale and cooperation within the school athletic program and school community
- Complete all TSSAA rules exams and attend meetings
- Supervise practices, games, and team trips
- Communicate and work with athletic training staff
- Maintain inventory of uniform/equipment
- Schedule games with approval of the Athletic Director and school sponsor
- Represent the school and system in a professional manner
- Supervise the Booster club and its activities
- Maintain good public relations with media, Booster club and volunteers
- Ensure that facilities and grounds are safe to use and communicate with Maintenance staff about all issues
- Perform other functions as assigned
- Complete the TBI/FBI background check performed by Collierville Schools
- Valid Tennessee Teacher License (if applicable) or ASEP/NFHS Coaching Certification
- Ability to organize and supervise a sports program/team
- Preferred previous coaching experience in assigned sport
- Knowledge of technical aspects of the assigned sport and willingness to continue to learn and examine new ideas pertinent to the assigned sport or coaching in general

- Mathematical Aptitude: Requires the ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division; the ability to calculate decimals and percentages; the ability to utilize principles of fractions; and the ability to interpret graphs.
- Functional Reasoning: Requires the ability to apply principles of rational systems, philosophies, laws, regulations, and procedures; to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule form; and to exercise independent judgment to adopt or modify methods and standards to meet variations in assigned objectives.
- Situational Reasoning: Requires the ability to exercise judgment, decisiveness and creativity in situations involving evaluation of information against measurable or verifiable criteria and the goals and priorities of planning and development programs.
- Physical Ability: Tasks require the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, but which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (up to 50 pounds). Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation.
- Sensory Requirements: Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate visual cues or signals. Some tasks require the ability to communicate orally.
