Head and Neck Surgical Oncologist
About the Role
Seeking a Head and Neck Surgical Oncologist to join Mission Health and its busy, established, and growing practice, Head and Neck Specialists of Western North Carolina, in Asheville. This position offers the opportunity to join an experienced team of two head and neck surgeons and further develop a premier regional Head and Neck Oncology Program.
The role involves providing care within a comprehensive Head and Neck Surgical Oncology Program serving Western North Carolina, with access to a broad and complex patient population requiring advanced cancer care. The practice features a collaborative multidisciplinary cancer program supported by Head & Neck Surgeons, APPs, nurse navigators, speech pathology, rehabilitation, nutrition, oncology social work (LCSW), and coordinated tumor board review.
Outpatient clinic is conveniently located on the Mission Hospital campus, supporting coordinated and patient-centered care. Shared call coverage is provided among practice providers.
Responsibilities
- Provide advanced head and neck surgical oncology care, including microvascular reconstruction
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive cancer treatment
- Participate in tumor board reviews and program development
- Share call coverage with other providers in the practice
Requirements
- Board eligible or board certified in Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery
- Fellowship training in Head and Neck Surgical Oncology and Microvascular Reconstruction
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
