About the Role

The Business Consultant is responsible for identifying and cultivating new business opportunities through networking, channel partners, and self-generated opportunities. This role involves executing aggressive prospecting strategies to gain access to key decision makers within a prospective client's organization. The Business Consultant maintains ownership of the entire sales cycle, including post-sale and implementation processes, negotiates pricing and scope of service, completes required sales paperwork, and finalizes client service agreements. The role also includes maintaining an accurate sales pipeline and forecast while achieving monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively generate new business opportunities within the designated territory.
  • Continuously expand knowledge of industry trends, new products, services, and broker practices.
  • Conduct thorough analysis, planning, and implementation of products and services tailored to meet client needs.
  • Stay informed about competitors' initiatives and analyze potential competitive threats.
  • Ensure the accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency of all services provided to assigned clients.
  • Schedule and conduct regular meetings with clients to address questions and concerns during the implementation phase.
  • Collect and analyze data to provide strategic guidance on products, services, marketing, sales, and other business areas.
  • Prepare concise and impactful executive summaries for client presentations.
  • Develop lead generation strategies and effectively use CRM (Salesforce) to track activities.
  • Consistently meet or exceed monthly and quarterly sales quotas.
  • Complete and submit accurate new business paperwork, expense reports, and weekly activity reports by deadlines.
  • Participate in monthly consulting meetings and provide training and coaching to other team members.
  • Frequent domestic travel required for team onsite meetings, client visits, customer events, industry conferences, and training sessions.
  • Build, maintain, and promote relationships with team members, peers, and other company stakeholders.
  • Attend webinars and training to stay up to date on best practices related to the company and department.
  • Complete projects and other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent combination of experience, skills, and education preferred.
  • At least two years' sales experience preferred.
  • Previous experience and proficiency with CRM tools (Salesforce or similar) preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Microsoft Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and demonstrated ability to learn other applications as needed.
  • Valid, non-restrictive driver's license as the role involves regular travel to client sites and company locations.

Physical Demands

  • Sedentary work, primarily involving sitting for extended periods at a desk or computer.
