About the Job
Work Schedule: Tuesday – Saturday
Work shift: Days/Hours vary, Tues – Fri may be evening hours during weeks of high workload. This position is expected to work on site at ARDL. Saturday work hours are consistent with a start time of approximately 9:00 AM.
Responsibilities
- Perform laboratory testing on blood, urine and other body fluids according to written procedures. Receives, test request and processes specimens.
- Evaluate test results for accuracy and takes appropriate action.
- Perform quality control, calibration and maintenance procedures on equipment and analyzers and documents actions appropriately.
- Exercise critical thinking to recognize problems and resolve appropriately.
- Order, receive and maintain supplies and inventory.
- Follow established biological, chemical and physical safety procedures.
- Comply with laboratory quality assurance programs and regulatory agency requirements.
Qualifications
- Required:
- - Bachelor’s or higher degree in a Medical Laboratory Science, or a biological, or chemical science degree from an accredited institution and two years of experience or a combination of education and experience to equal six years.
- - At least two years of laboratory experience.
- - Excellent attention to details.
- - Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Preferred:
- - Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science
- - ASCP certified MLS, MT, or MB.
Pay and Benefits
Pay Range: $30.00 - 33.00/hr; depending on education/qualifications/experience
Time Appointment: 80% Appointment
