Day-to-Day Tasks

• Assists with the technical design for new development and system enhancements.
• Coordinates the technical solutions among various technical support groups.
• Presents technical solutions to management and technical support areas.
• Implements technical solutions.
• Leads requirements gathering sessions.
• Leads the analysis of requirements and system design work.
• Develops technical design documents and program specifications.
• Codes, unit, and integration tests programming assignments.
• Writes and tunes SQL.
• Supports user testing efforts.
• Performs performance tuning of new and existing applications.
• Provides production support tasks including analysis of issues and proposing/implementing solutions.
• Mentors less experienced staff.

Mandatory Qualifications

• Software Architect – Makes high-level design choices and dictates technical standards, including software coding standards, tools, and platforms. Designs multi-leveled architecture or component interactions of a large scale software system.
• Expert in 84+ Months: Candidate is able to provide guidance to large teams and/or has extensive industry experience and is considered at the top of his/her field.

Requested Qualifications

• 84 months experience with a Government Taxation organization, which includes technical design, development, maintenance, and end user support of complex Tax Accounting Systems.
• 84 months experience with COBOL programming in an IBM Mainframe Environment.
• 36 months experience with IBM DB2 for LUW working with large databases (1TB and larger) and using XQuery.
• 84 months experience with IDMS and DMLO in a mainframe environment.
• 84 months experience with APS (Application Productivity System) and CICS in a mainframe environment.
• 84 months experience with IBM MQ Series.
• 84 months experience with IBM DB2 for z/OS working with complex database structures.
• 84 months experience with IBM MVS JCL in a mainframe environment.
• 84 months of experience with TSO in a mainframe environment.
• 84 months of application performance analysis and tuning experience.
