HAZMAT FLATBED TRANSPORT DRIVER JOB OPENING

Job Description

The Driver responsibilities include safe product handling, product quality assurance, and product transportation consistent with regulatory compliance and Company operating goals. The Driver is responsible for the pick-up and the drop-off of specified equipment. The driver must keep the truck properly maintained and must follow all safe driving regulations.

Responsibilities

• Transports deliveries in a safe, responsible manner and in accordance with company policy and applicable State & Federal regulations.
• Applies knowledge and abilities to safely load and unload deliveries according to the capacity of the load and content description.
• Processes and maintains proper delivery authorization and pickup documentation and submits in a timely manner.
• Maintains communication with dispatch as to any delays or issues during route/shift.
• Provides good customer service and maintains a professional manner and appearance to enhance the company’s image.
• Performs a daily DOT pre-trip and post-trip inspection checklist, informing maintenance personnel of any issues.
• Maintains a daily, legible DOT log book and submits logbooks as required by company policy.
• Maintains vehicle in a neat and tidy manner.
• Reports all accidents/damages/malfunctions immediately to management as per company policy and procedure.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

• Must hold a valid Class A CDL with TWIC, HAZMAT. A Tank Endorsement is also preferred.
• Minimum of 24 months commercial driving experience.
• No more than 2 major moving violations within a 3 year period.
• No more than 2 accidents within a 3 year period.
• DOT Drug Screening required.
• No Felony convictions.
• No DUI's/ DWI's within the last 7 years.
• No positive or refused drug or alcohol tests.
• Current Medical Examiner's Certificate.
• Must be 23 Years of age or older.
• Able to perform repetitive motion activities throughout the day.
• Able to get into and out of the truck frequently.
• Able to lift and/or move 75 lbs. on a regular basis.
• Able to work 10-12 hours per day, 5 days/week.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to perform repetitive motion activities throughout the day.
• Requires getting into and out of the truck frequently.
• Able to lift and/or move 75 lbs. on a regular basis.
• Able to work 10-12 hours per day, 5 days/week.

Working Conditions

• Regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts.
• Requires sitting for an average of 65-75% of working hours.
• Regularly exposed to very dusty and noisy conditions.
• Exposed to outdoor weather conditions.
• May be exposed to chemicals used in the process.
• Working conditions require work weeks that may consist of more than 40 hours or shift work.
• A tanker driver must also be physically able to load and unload the tanker.
