Shift/Hours/Location: M-F, 7 am-3:30 pm (Schedule is tentative to change based on business needs), Mesa, AZ What You Will Be Working On Monitor, track, and document all waste generated across the facility, including by department (type, quantity, date, and source).Manage and oversee all waste collection activities throughout the facility, ensuring containers are properly placed in all generating areas.Ensure proper segregation, labeling, storage, and disposal of waste in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements.Conduct routine inspections of waste collection areas to verify containers are correctly labeled, free from residue, in good condition, provided with secondary containment where required, and those areas are clean and safe.Move full waste containers from generating areas to the 180‑day waste accumulation area and return empty, compliant containers to designated locations.Coordinate waste pickups with approved vendors and maintain accurate records of waste volumes and disposal activities.Collect and treat all waste that is approved for processing through the in‑house waste‑treatment system.Coordinate and pump waste containers into the treatment process, ensuring proper handling, safety, and documentation.Maintain and update waste logs, manifests, treatment records, and other required documentation in accordance with regulatory and internal requirements.Maintain accurate records of waste inputs and throughputs and report this information to the EHSS Manager and Production Manager as required.Communicate with production and lab teams to ensure waste is managed consistently and correctly.Communicate waste volumes, trends, and any issues or non‑conformances to the EHSS Manager, including recommendations for improvements.Support compliance with applicable hazardous waste, solid waste, and environmental health and safety regulations and internal policies.Serve as backup for all Shipping & Receiving functions when primary staff are unavailable or during high‑volume periods.Receive, inspect, and document all incoming materials, supplies, and equipment.Verify shipments against purchase orders and report any discrepancies or damage.Process incoming materials in the ERP or inventory system, label and stage items, and deliver them to the appropriate departments or storage locations.Prepare, package, and document outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy and compliance with customer, carrier, and hazardous materials requirements as applicable.Complete required documentation for outbound shipments (packing slips, BOLs, shipping labels, hazardous materials paperwork, etc.).Maintain organized inventory of incoming and outgoing materials and support general warehouse organization and workflow.Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material‑handling equipment (training and certification provided if needed).Maintain shipping/receiving areas in an organized, safe, and compliant manner, including housekeeping and basic equipment checks (pallet jacks, forklifts, etc.).Support cycle counts and inventory accuracy as requested by the Shipping & Receiving Technician, Production Manager, or supervisor.Uphold all MLI policies and “MLI Code of Conduct.”Strict compliance with Environmental and Safety regulations.Compliance and individual accountability with the MLI Quality System and ISO Registration is required. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical or vocational training in environmental, logistics, or related field preferred.Experience in hazardous waste handling, waste management, warehouse operations, shipping/receiving, or a manufacturing environment preferred.Knowledge of hazardous waste labeling, accumulation time limits, secondary containment, and basic regulatory concepts (RCRA or state equivalents) is a plus.Ability to operate material‑handling equipment (pallet jack, forklift) and complete required certifications.Ability to lift, move, and maneuver containers and materials safely in accordance with site requirements.Strong attention to detail, organization, and documentation accuracy.Basic computer skills for logging data, maintaining records, and completing shipping/receiving transactions.Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with multiple departments.Safety and environmental compliance focus.Ownership and accountability for documentation and records.Effective communication with EHSS Manager, Shipping & Receiving, Production, and operating departments.Ability to prioritize waste management tasks and shipping/receiving needs in a dynamic environment. Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. WORKING CONDITIONS Duties are generally performed indoors in a high purity manufacturing environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate. When working in the presence of safety hazards, the employee is expected to follow company safety rules and use proper personal protective equipment such as: hardhat, safety glasses and full leather shoes, etc. Employees will work in a covered Process Safety Management (PSM) environment containing threshold quantities of flammable liquids and/or gasses that have a potential for fire or explosion. Employees working in this environment are required to be free from devices that are not considered intrinsically safe.
