About the role

The Mental Health Nurse manages and directs medical clinics across various office locations. Responsibilities include client meetings, consultations with physicians, report completion, and general office management.

Responsibilities

• Monitor client progress and problems between medication clinics and report findings to the psychiatrist/physician.
• Counsel clients on the importance of following medication regimens and observe their response to medication.
• Provide therapy (individual, group, family, marital) as appropriate to training level.
• Complete reports, records, logs, and other required documentation for client records.
• Coordinate nursing duties and responsibilities.
• Consult with staff members regarding clinical cases and issues.
• Assist the psychiatrist/physician during medication clinics.
• Participate in consultation and education activities.
• Conduct in-service training sessions for staff.
• Attend administrative and clinical staff meetings.
• Receive clinical supervision.
• Conduct client intakes.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the direct supervisor.

Requirements

• Valid Mississippi driver’s license, personal auto, liability insurance, and insurable driving record.
• Maintain a valid nursing license throughout employment.
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Mississippi.
• Ability to relate to mental health and substance abuse clients.
• Ability to work independently and accept supervision.

Pay

$40,000–$50,000 yearly salary.
