Haul Truck Operator- Vega Texas

About the role

Rogers Group, Inc., headquartered in Nashville, is a privately held aggregates and asphalt highway construction company operating in 13 states with over 3,500 employees. RGI, established in 1908, has the distinction of being recognized as the largest privately held aggregate producer in the United States. Rogers Group is seeking candidates to fill a position as a Haul Truck Operator in Vega TX. This position will report to the Plant Manager.

Responsibilities

• Operate haul trucks to move rock from the pit to the crusher and begin the crushing process.
• Perform daily pre-and post-inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with company policies.
• Perform servicing and maintenance of equipment as trained and directed by management.
• Effective communication skills applicable to position.
• Operate equipment with a high degree of competency, skill, and proficiency.
• Properly follow all company policies and OSHA / MSHA / Environmental regulations for safe working procedures and environment.
• Must be able to work outside in all types of weather and tolerate being exposed to loud noises.
• Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
• Must be willing to work overtime and extended hours as needed.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience operating heavy equipment required.
• Individuals must be dedicated to always operating safely.
• Dozer Experience a plus.
• Individual must be willing to perform any task required at quarry.
• Must be able to identify and alert management to maintenance issues with equipment.
• Able to complete pre-operation inspection paperwork.
• Flexibility to work overtime and weekends when necessary.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid Texas driver’s license required.
• Must be able to pass a background check.

Skills

• Proficiency in operating haul trucks.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of OSHA / MSHA / Environmental regulations.
