Responsibilities

• Loads truck by hand or by operating a mechanical loader.
• Pulls levers or turns crank to tilt the body and dump contents.
• Performs inspections of vehicle systems, equipment, and accessories such as tires, lights, turn signals, and brakes.
• Ensures cargo is properly loaded according to safety requirements and sizes the load.
• Follows all safety policies, procedures, and legislation; observes and operates within applicable traffic laws.
• Communicates with other haul‑truck drivers and equipment operators using two‑way radios or onboard computers.
• Moves hand and foot controls to jerk the truck forward and backward to loosen and dump material adhering to the body.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• High School diploma/GED.
• Minimum of 1–2 years of haul‑truck driving experience, or a minimum of 2 years of training with at least 6 months of equivalent work experience.
• Must have 1 + year of experience maintaining log books.
• Willingness to perform labor work.
• Ability to work safely under pressure with time constraints in a changing environment.
