Haul Truck Driver

About the role

Martin Marietta is seeking a Surface Heavy Equipment Operator at our Woodbine surface operations in Chapman, KS. This position is responsible for safely operating heavy equipment to move material within the plant.

Responsibilities

• Participate in safety programs and training, promoting Martin Marietta’s Guardian Angel culture
• Inspect equipment for signs of wear
• Perform basic maintenance on heavy mobile equipment
• Work in a team environment
• Clean work areas
• Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions
• Proper wear of personal protective equipment
• Notify supervisors of repairs needed
• Ensure materials are properly loaded according to safety requirements
• Assist in plant maintenance and repairs
• Perform duties with minimum supervision
• Take on additional tasks and assignments as required, including duties outside the typical scope of the role

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license
• Heavy equipment operations or military experience preferred
• 1+ years related experience
• Valid US driver’s license

Skills

• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Knowledge of MSHA regulations
• Effective verbal communication
• Knowledge of machines and tools including their design, use, and maintenance

Physical Abilities

• Ability to work in an outdoor environment year-round
• General physical activities include climbing stairs and ladders, lifting, pushing, pulling, stooping, reaching with hands and arms, and handling materials

Pay

$23-$26 an hour

Schedule

• Monday - Friday, 6am-6pm
• Full-time position requiring 40+ hours per week
