Haul Truck Driver

About the role

The selected candidate will operate heavy equipment in pit and mining operations, ensuring a safe and efficient work environment for themselves and co-workers.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently operate heavy equipment of various sizes and weights.
• Report any problems to your manager and maintain constant communication with co-workers, especially when backing equipment.
• Adhere to all company policies and OSHA/MSHA regulations for safe working procedures.
• Follow directions from the Foreman regarding daily tasks and project expectations.
• Perform minor servicing and maintenance of equipment; refer major issues to the Foreman.
• Conduct daily pre- and post-inspections with appropriate documentation.
• Assist in training less-experienced employees on equipment operations, servicing, and repair.
• Perform general labor duties and other assigned tasks as needed.

Requirements

• Pass pre-employment drug screen, criminal background check, and “Fit for Work” physical.
• Provide valid documentation for the I-9 Immigration form.
• Maintain a professional and courteous attitude toward co-workers, supervisors, and the public.
• Willingness to travel and work away from home, including nights and weekends.
• Report to work at the designated start time and work overtime as required.
• Ability to work outdoors in extreme temperatures (hot and cold).
• Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures outlined in the Employee Handbook.
• Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors.
• Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by OSHA/MSHA.
• At least 18 years of age due to the nature of the working environment.

Qualifications

• Previous related experience in the construction field and/or training.
• Two to five years’ experience in loader operations preferred.
