Hatchery Associate I

Check & Grade Chicks

• Perform duties unsupervised and maintain a positive attitude.
• Make decisions independently and continuously improve processes.
• Build boxes for chick transport and label them correctly.
• Ensure all equipment is in good working order and stock levels are adequate.
• Ensure chick and egg welfare standards are met throughout handling.
• Follow cleaning and hygiene protocols as per company guidelines.
• Adhere to safe working practices and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Report accidents and near misses promptly.
• Maintain high biosecurity standards at all times.

Job Qualifications

• Ability to handle moderate to heavy physical work, including pushing and pulling trolleys weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Basic math skills necessary for the job.
• Capable of standing for long periods and performing repetitive tasks.
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment and managing stress.
• Reliable work attendance and willingness to give one's best effort.
• Ability to work effectively in a team setting.
• Good communication skills and proficiency in using simple Microsoft programs like Excel and Word.
