Hardy-Hughes Natatorium

About the Project

Through multiple renovations and additions, the former Hardy Middle School site is being transformed into a first-class sports complex for the entire district. The project includes master planning for the existing school building, which has been unused since the 2020 pandemic and a subsequent flood of the electrical and mechanical systems.

Project Scope

• Phased renovation of the existing building and addition of a new Natatorium on the north end of the campus.
• Natatorium features:
  • Eight-lane competition pool
  • Diving well (permanent home for the Jackson Public Schools swimming program)
  • Support for community swimming programs
  • Designed to host future state-level competitions
  • Locker room facilities
  • Concessions
  • Multipurpose classroom for instruction and community events
  • Spectator seating for meets
• Renovations to the existing building:
  • Auditorium
  • Kitchen
  • Banquet hall
  • Gymnasium
  • Locker rooms
  • Physical therapy trainers’ room
  • Spaces for wrestling and weight training
