Hardware Sales Associate

About the role

Ace Hardware East, a Mead Lumber Company, is seeking a Hardware Sales Associate to join our team. This position is responsible for assisting customers in finding and learning about the products and services they need for their home, yard, or business.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers in finding and learning about the products and services.
• Generate sales of hardware, lawn and garden, paint, and related products.
• Merchandise products and build compelling displays.
• Order products and maintain accurate inventories.
• Stock, price, and organize products.
• Straighten, clean, and maintain a pleasant, organized, and enjoyable sales environment.
• Show general knowledge of retail products and categories.
• Listen to a customer’s needs and formulate appropriate solutions.
• Operate a register, computer, and calculator.
• Show a commitment to Customer Service and Customer Satisfaction.
• Work efficiently, promptly, and accurately.
• Work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Requirements

General knowledge of retail products and categories.

Ability to listen to a customer’s needs and formulate appropriate solutions.

Ability to operate a register, computer, and calculator.

Commitment to Customer Service and Customer Satisfaction.

Ability and willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.

Previous retail experience preferred.
