About the role

The Hardware Procurement Specialist works closely with the mechanical team to source, manage, and execute on hardware components for Gritt Robotics' autonomous field systems. This role involves sourcing off-the-shelf parts, managing long-lead items, and maintaining accurate inventory and BOMs.

Responsibilities

  • Sourcing & Purchasing: Source off-the-shelf parts, procure mechanical components, and keep the floor stocked with necessary parts.
  • Vendor Management & Cost: Manage vendors, negotiate prices, lead times, and quality, and control costs.
  • Purchase Orders, Inventory & BOMs: Track POs and inventory, maintain BOMs, and close the feedback loop on sourcing and quality issues.

Requirements

  • 1-5 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain, or operations, preferably in a hardware, robotics, mechanical, aerospace, automotive, or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong internship experience counts.
  • Hungry to grow and take on increasing responsibilities as the company scales.
  • Prompt and organized, returning messages quickly and ensuring timely payments.
  • Comfortable with hardware, reading mechanical drawings, and understanding BOMs.
  • Able to work with mechanical engineers, suppliers, and leadership, translating between different groups.
  • Calm under pressure, handling delays effectively without spiraling.
  • Mission-driven, excited about contributing to the development of infrastructure.

Qualifications

  • Familiarity with procurement of custom machined or fabricated parts, sensors, compute, and environmental ratings.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP/MRP or PLM systems.
  • Background working alongside mechanical, electrical, and firmware engineers.
  • Exposure to construction equipment, heavy machinery, off-highway vehicles, or field service environments.
  • Nice to have: APICS/ASCM (CPIM, CSCP), ISM CPSM, or Lean / Six Sigma coursework.
