About the role
A Day in the Life:
As a Hardware Integration & Test Engineer III, you’ll take a lead role in validating complex hardware and system performance across advanced aerospace programs. You’ll independently develop and execute comprehensive test strategies, design test infrastructure, and troubleshoot integration challenges. Working cross-functionally with hardware, software, and manufacturing teams, you’ll ensure products meet performance, reliability, and program requirements while continuously improving test capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Develop Comprehensive Test Strategies: Identify testable product and program requirements and develop detailed test plans to validate functionality, performance, and system behavior.
- Author Verification & Acceptance Procedures: Write Design Verification and Acceptance Test Procedures to support engineering development, qualification, and production testing.
- Design Test Infrastructure: Design, develop, and maintain test fixtures, cables, interfaces, and custom test setups for new and evolving hardware products.
- Lead Failure Investigation & Debug: Investigate test failures, debug hardware and software test setups, identify root causes, and present findings and recommendations during Test Review Boards.
- Support Integration & System Testing: Collaborate closely with hardware and software engineering teams to support product integration, system-level testing, and complex troubleshooting efforts.
- Improve Test Effectiveness: Partner with manufacturing operations to improve test readability, reliability, repeatability, and overall test infrastructure alignment with product requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- 5 or more years of experience in hardware integration, testing, or related engineering roles.
- Hands-on experience using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and environmental test chambers.
- Strong ability to read schematics and troubleshoot circuit card assemblies (CCAs).
- Experience testing or integrating complex hardware and system-level products.
- Proven ability to document, track, and present technical findings and test results.
- Ability to manage multiple test efforts concurrently and provide accurate development estimates.
- Knowledge of Linux environments is a plus.
Qualifications
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance; active U.S. Security Clearance preferred.
