Hardware Install and Service I

About the role

Install all types of hardware in various applications, following direction from the field supervisor and adhering to manufacturer directions and warranty requirements.

Responsibilities

• Follow instructions from the field supervisor regarding installation of hardware materials.
• Work with other installers to install hardware products as assigned and trained.
• Follow manufacturer directions and warranty requirements when installing products.
• Track time and materials as required for each installation project.
• Maintain all equipment in good order and report any malfunctions to field supervisor.
• Operate all equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
• Provide quality customer service.
• Cross-train in other areas to expand knowledge and expertise.
• Retain an awareness of the work environment critical to the task at hand to produce error-free and damage-free results.
• Perform lock rekeying services, including repinning cylinders and creating new key sets based on master key systems or customer needs.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical locking systems and door hardware.
• Cut keys using manual or electronic key cutting machines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Comply with all policies and standards.
• Adhere to Company’s commitment to workplace safety.
• Participate in and complete assigned trainings.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Prior experience installing hardware products preferred.
• Prior keying experience preferred.

Skills

• Read and use a measuring tape and other required tools for complete installation.
• Good interpersonal skills, verbal and written skills, and the ability to provide and/or follow detailed instructions.
• Available for overtime as needed.
