Hardware Engineering Manager
About the role
Lead a team focused on advancing Hardware Technologies for the Precision Strike (PS) organization. This position offers the opportunity to acquire in-depth knowledge of PS technology and architecture and apply it in a team environment to develop cutting-edge military product solutions. You will manage a group of Hardware Engineers, providing technical mentoring, career guidance, and performance feedback while ensuring the team meets business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Manage and lead a team of Hardware Engineers, ensuring staffing levels and skill sets align with program and business needs.
- Provide technical mentoring, career guidance, and performance feedback to team members.
- Interview, hire, and train new team members to shape and grow the team.
- Work closely with other Team Leaders, Program Managers, and business development to influence roadmaps and understand customer and market needs.
- Ensure design, implementation, and sustainment solutions meet or exceed customer expectations.
- Participate in architecture and design reviews, strategic initiative implementation, bid and proposal development, and next-generation solution planning.
- Guide Engineers in career advancement and push development initiatives and best practices across the discipline.
- Set positive examples for collaboration, helping others, and celebrating team successes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) discipline, or a Master of Science.
- Current U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Must be able to obtain a DoD Security Clearance.
- Experience in a people manager role or a matrix leader role on a development project.
- Effective communication skills (both verbal and written).
Preferred Qualifications
- Hardware Design experience.
- Product Transition to Production Experience.
- Experience in overall successful project execution and oversight.
- Experience creating project plans and setting up project schedules.
- Experience identifying, hiring, and training staff for project execution.
- Experience supporting pursuit activities, including bids and proposals.
- Ability to guide employees through complicated or difficult situations effectively and professionally.
- Experience presenting to technical audiences.
- Highly motivated to solve complex problems and continuously improve.
- Existing Secret or Top Secret Security Clearance.
Pay
Full-Time Salary Range: $132,962 - $226,035. Individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications such as skills, education, and experience.
