Duties

  • Create electrical schematics and circuit layouts using CAD software.
  • Create detailed PCB layouts and oversee manufacturing processes ensuring adherence to electrical engineering standards and NEC compliance.
  • Develop FPGA-based solutions utilizing SystemVerilog, VHDL, or similar hardware description languages for programmable logic controllers and control systems.
  • Conduct engineering testing, debugging, and root cause analysis on hardware prototypes to ensure reliability and performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams on system design verification using simulation tools like MATLAB/Simulink and SPICE.
  • Perform signal processing tasks and integrate communications systems expertise into product development.
  • Support manufacturing by providing technical guidance on surface mount technology (SMT), soldering techniques, and electrical system integration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field; advanced degrees preferred.
  • Proven experience practicing in an industrial or manufacturing engineering role with a focus on electronics design and system development.
  • Strong proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation), simulation tools (MATLAB, Simulink), and schematic capture tools.
  • Hands-on experience with FPGA development using SystemVerilog or VHDL; familiarity with ARM architecture and firmware programming in C++ or Python.
  • Knowledge of electrical building codes (NFPA 70 compliance), electronics troubleshooting, and industrial automation standards.
  • Skilled in PCB design including surface mount technology (SMT), soldering techniques, and circuit debugging with tools such as ohmmeters.
  • Mechanical knowledge related to mechanical engineering principles for integrated hardware solutions; experience with Revit or SolidWorks is advantageous.
  • Excellent project scheduling skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while adhering to deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration across engineering teams and manufacturing partners.
