Duties
- Create electrical schematics and circuit layouts using CAD software.
- Create detailed PCB layouts and oversee manufacturing processes ensuring adherence to electrical engineering standards and NEC compliance.
- Develop FPGA-based solutions utilizing SystemVerilog, VHDL, or similar hardware description languages for programmable logic controllers and control systems.
- Conduct engineering testing, debugging, and root cause analysis on hardware prototypes to ensure reliability and performance.
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams on system design verification using simulation tools like MATLAB/Simulink and SPICE.
- Perform signal processing tasks and integrate communications systems expertise into product development.
- Support manufacturing by providing technical guidance on surface mount technology (SMT), soldering techniques, and electrical system integration.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field; advanced degrees preferred.
- Proven experience practicing in an industrial or manufacturing engineering role with a focus on electronics design and system development.
- Strong proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation), simulation tools (MATLAB, Simulink), and schematic capture tools.
- Hands-on experience with FPGA development using SystemVerilog or VHDL; familiarity with ARM architecture and firmware programming in C++ or Python.
- Knowledge of electrical building codes (NFPA 70 compliance), electronics troubleshooting, and industrial automation standards.
- Skilled in PCB design including surface mount technology (SMT), soldering techniques, and circuit debugging with tools such as ohmmeters.
- Mechanical knowledge related to mechanical engineering principles for integrated hardware solutions; experience with Revit or SolidWorks is advantageous.
- Excellent project scheduling skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while adhering to deadlines.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration across engineering teams and manufacturing partners.
