Hardware Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to join our team at ALTEN Technology USA. This position offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects within the automotive industry, collaborating with experts in various fields.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop embedded electrical systems for automotive applications
• Conduct EMI/EMC design, testing, and troubleshooting
• Participate in electrical architecture discussions and ensure compliance with ISO 26262 and other industry standards
• Collaborate on thermal management solutions for electronic control units (ECUs)
• Review and lead schematic and layout design processes
• Support the integration of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), infotainment systems, and software-defined vehicles
• Engage in hardware debugging and problem-solving using electrical lab equipment

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field
• At least 2 years of experience in schematic and layout design
• Experience with automotive industry, especially in Tier 1 or Tier 2 roles
• Knowledge of vehicle buses such as ETH/CAN/LIN/LVDS and their troubleshooting tools
• Understanding of system/component design and functional safety
• Experience with power integrity and signal integrity
• Experience in architectural hardware/system roles
• Strong knowledge of hardware systems, software tools, and algorithms for actuator interfaces, firmware development, in-vehicle bus architectures, and computing platforms
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Qualifications

• Experience with Altium PCB design software
• Proficiency in high-complexity multilayer PCB layout design
• Experience with PCB to mechanical interface and constraints
• Ability to debug and solve problems using electrical lab equipment
