Job Description
Keep properties safe, functional, and well-maintained for residents, families, and community partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general repair and maintenance tasks across residential, commercial, and property service settings.
- Troubleshoot and repair doors, windows, locks, fixtures, drywall, tile, flooring, and other property features.
- Aid with basic electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical, carpentry, and painting tasks within skill level and safety standards.
- Install and assemble furniture, shelving, appliances, hardware, and other property items.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from clients, tenants, property managers, and supervisors.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Vocational training, trade certification, or maintenance-related coursework preferred.
- Proven experience as a handyman, maintenance technician, or similar maintenance role required.
- Experience in residential housing, property management, furnished accommodations, facilities, or commercial maintenance preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
- Ability to pass background checks and drug screenings required.
Competencies And Skills
- Proficiency in general maintenance trades, including carpentry, plumbing, basic electrical, painting, drywall, flooring, and fixture repair.
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication, customer service, and professionalism.
- Ability to work independently, manage time, and complete tasks efficiently.
- Physical stamina and strength to perform hands-on manual labor.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities, urgent maintenance needs, and property schedules.
- Willingness to continue learning and expanding maintenance skills.
Work Requirements
- Work is performed indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Travel between assigned properties and service locations is required.
- May be required to work evenings, weekends, holidays, or on-call hours based on maintenance needs.
- Exposure to tools, equipment, potentially hazardous materials, heights, tight spaces, and active property environments may occur.
- Use of personal protective equipment may be required for certain assignments.
- Must be able to regularly walk, stand, stoop, drive, and perform physical maintenance work.
- Must be able to occasionally lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects weighing up to 100 pounds.
