About the role

Honey Homes is hiring a skilled handyman or maintenance technician for steady, full‑time work in San Jose. This is a W2 hourly position with paid benefits, not a gig or contract role. You will work either on a dedicated territory of 40‑50 homes near where you live or on the residential remodeling crew, with no client hunting, unpredictable schedules, or weekend work. The company serves over 4,000 homeowners across California, Texas, and Illinois and provides support from a Field Manager and Member Success team. Opportunities for growth include courses from the General Contractor, advancement to Senior Handyman and Field Trainer.

Responsibilities

• Perform residential home repair, maintenance, and remodel work across multiple trades:
  • Carpentry: door installation, trim and molding, framing, dry rot repair, deck and fence repair
  • Painting and drywall: interior painting, drywall repair and patching, caulking
  • Plumbing: toilet repair, faucet replacement, valves, minor pipe repairs, clearing drains
  • Electrical: light fixture installation, outlets, switches, ceiling fans, thermostats, small wiring tasks
  • Smart home device installation and TV mounting
• Keep home systems and appliances on a preventive maintenance schedule for your route homes.
• Provide outstanding customer service and build strong relationships with members.
• Use the company app to track jobs, tasks, and schedules.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands‑on experience as a handyman, maintenance technician, carpenter, remodeler, or in another multi‑trade residential role.
• Skilled across carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, and drywall, with strong troubleshooting ability; able to assess and fix most home issues independently.
• Attention to detail and a customer‑friendly attitude.
• Reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license, and own tools.
• Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, work on ladders and overhead, and work in tight spaces such as attics and crawlspaces (with or without reasonable accommodation).
• No contractor’s, electrical, or plumbing license required for permitted work.

Pay

• $37/hour (≈ $77,000 per year)
• $1,500 sign‑on bonus, paid in full after completing training and 30 days onboard

Schedule

Full time, 40 hours per week, steady residential work. No client searching.

Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.

No evenings, no weekends, no on‑call, no required overtime.

Work close to home in a small San Jose territory (not the whole South Bay).
