Handling Technician

About the role

As a Handling Technician at the Vernon, TX site, you are responsible for the safe production, transfer, and packaging of various raw materials and products.

Responsibilities

• Operate valves, switches, levers, and other control devices.
• Perform daily safety and housekeeping chores such as picking up, washing, sweeping, and shoveling.
• Operate different types of moving equipment such as trucks and forklifts.
• Serve on fire and rescue squads as required.
• Submit maintenance notifications in RCS for equipment during your assigned shift.
• Operate equipment for transferring and packaging materials, adjust and record process changes.
• Participate in plant improvement teamwork.
• Complete training (SOPs, COPs, Active Learner, etc.).
• Maintain cleaning and housekeeping standards.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 1-2 years of experience in chemical production preferred.
• Previous experience in forklift operation preferred.
• Ability to work 8 to 12-hour shifts standing and moving throughout the facility.
• Fluent communication in English.
• Ability to use computers and associated software.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs independently throughout the shift.
• Basic math skills and ability to interpret lab results to make process changes.

Pay

The U.S. base salary range for this position is $22.69 per hour. Actual compensation may vary based on factors unique to each candidate and may include bonus and/or other incentives.
