The University of Washington is recruiting a full-time physician assistant at the faculty rank of Teaching Associate to join their hand and upper extremity service within the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine. This position is based at multiple locations including Harborview Medical Center, the University of Washington Medical Center – Montlake, University of Washington Medical Center – Northwest, Seattle Children’s Hospital, and the VA Puget Sound Health Care System.

About the role

The successful candidate will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary health team that includes orthopaedic surgeons, plastic surgeons, primary care and rehabilitation medicine physicians, occupational therapists, orthopaedic residents, and fellows. Responsibilities will involve providing comprehensive orthopaedic care to patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive orthopaedic care
  • Assist in patient care in both inpatient and outpatient settings
  • Participate in clinical education and training of students and residents
  • Contribute to research and scholarly activities as appropriate

Requirements

  • Current and valid Washington State Physician Assistant License
  • Graduate Degree from an accredited PA program
  • Nationally certified PA-C with DEA

Qualifications

  • Proven excellence working in an interdisciplinary collaborative team environment

Skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong clinical skills and ability to manage complex cases
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Benefits

  • Salary range: $10,000 - $14,850 per month ($120,000-178,200 annually) commensurate with qualifications and years of experience as a physician assistant, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination

Pay Range

  • Minimum: $120,000.00 annual

This position has a flexible start date in winter 2026. It is on an annual appointment with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30).
