Hand Hygiene Auditor - Infection Prevention - Full-time

About the Role

Performs direct observation of patient care and support staff to evaluate completion of proper hand hygiene following established policies and procedures. Supports Infection Prevention and Control department efforts to improve patient safety and infection prevention by providing data needed to improve hand hygiene adherence.

Responsibilities

• Submit data collected using a secure web application for compilation and feedback to departments.
• Create audit schedule and complete required number of hand hygiene observations per week/month as directed by Infection Prevention and Control Practitioners.
• Collect data daily (Monday–Friday) on hand hygiene practices through direct observation.
• Submit hand hygiene observations using the Purell SMARTLINK Observation App on smartphone or computer.
• Participate in scheduled team meetings as appropriate.

Requirements

• High School Graduate.
• Completion of Hand Hygiene Auditor Training within the first week of assignment to the role.

Experience

• Required: Previous experience with direct observation for hand hygiene compliance.

Schedule

Standard hours at Erlanger Baroness Hospital, Chattanooga, TN. Data collection occurs Monday–Friday.
