About the role
United Health Services Hospitals is a not-for-profit organization serving the Southern Tier of Upstate New York with primary and specialty care offices throughout Broome, Chenango, Delaware and Tioga counties. The UHS Orthopedic Center in Vestal seeks a fellowship-trained Orthopedic Surgeon specializing in Hand Surgery to support growth and succession planning.
Practice environment
The practice has a strong regional referral base and is supported by a large primary care network within the UHS system. It currently includes:
- Three total joint surgeons specializing in knee, hip and shoulder
- One hand surgeon
- Two sports medicine surgeons
- One fellowship-trained trauma surgeon
- Two non-operative sports medicine physicians
- Two physiatrists
The practice is located in a new state-of-the-art facility that houses a large Physical Therapy department, Podiatry, Chiropractic and Rheumatology, enabling a multidisciplinary approach to patient care. Administrative and clinical support staff are available to maximize daily operations.
Teaching and research
Opportunities include teaching residents and medical students from Upstate Medical University, educating the UHS sports medicine fellow, and participating in clinical research.
Compensation and benefits
- Competitive starting salary range: $855,385 to $1,089,200
- Sign-on bonus: $75,000 to $100,000
