About the role
Responsible for providing guest service that results in sales of Western Store merchandise and promotions. Duties include cashiering, replenishing stock, arranging displays, and maintaining store cleanliness.
Responsibilities
- Provide the highest level of customer service by greeting and acknowledging guests in a friendly manner, using the customer’s name whenever possible.
- Learn and become proficient in the use of the POS system and process transactions within department guidelines for all approved payment methods.
- Attend sales meetings and stay informed regarding all existing and new stock items to better promote customer sales.
- Promote customer satisfaction by engaging with customers beyond the counter.
- Assist guests by providing product knowledge on all merchandise sold in the Western Store.
- Check in merchandise, including unpacking, hanging, tagging, stocking, pricing, and organizing freight.
- Maintain tidiness and organization by regularly cleaning (dusting, vacuuming, cleaning mirrors, etc.) all areas of the store.
- Lift and maneuver heavy, bulky items (up to 50 lbs.) onto shelving, including overhead, when changing displays or replenishing products.
- Promote a clean, safe, and healthy work environment by safely using all equipment, tools, and materials.
- Demonstrate internal guest service standards through courteous and respectful behavior toward co-workers and supervisors.
- Handle guest inquiries and concerns efficiently and cordially; refer difficult situations to the supervisor.
- Comply with regulatory laws, employee handbook, department policies and procedures, and safety codes.
- Promote teamwork through punctual, responsible attendance, including promptness regarding breaks, meal periods, and reporting to the workstation.
- Promptly report all concerns to the supervisor.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements
- Three months of cash handling and three months of customer service experience.
- Able to stand for long periods; handle and maneuver bulky 50 lb. boxes; perform repetitive motions with wrists, hands, and fingers.
- High school diploma/GED or ten years’ experience.
- Effective communication skills—verbally provide instruction, respond to questions, and demonstrate exceptional interpersonal skills and abilities.
- Exhibit a professional demeanor through appearance and maintain a positive attitude toward all employees and guests.
- Pass a criminal history background check.
- At least 18 years of age.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge and experience in the Western fashion world, the western, farm, and ranch way of life, rodeo, and equestrian fields.
