About the Role
As a Field Merchandiser Floater, you'll work independently to showcase your organization and time management skills while being the face of Hallmark. You will collaborate with local store teams to optimize product placement, maintain inventory levels, and support fellow team members with seasonal resets and installations. Occasionally, you may work with products from other companies in the stores you service.
Responsibilities
- Perform service work in the Hallmark department of various retail stores, including grocery stores, drug stores, department stores, and mass retailers.
- Day-to-day engagement:
- Restock, organize, and monitor the inventory of Hallmark products within and outside the Hallmark department using a mobile device provided by Hallmark.
- Use technology for communication with your supervisor, reporting time, providing feedback, and completing surveys for required merchandising activities.
- Maintain professional and courteous interaction with store employees, management, and customers.
- Oversee the entire Hallmark product display at assigned stores.
- Holiday support:
- Work additional days and extended hours leading up to and following major holidays such as Valentine's Day, Easter, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
- May be required to work on the actual holiday, including weekends, for occasions like Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, and Father's Day.
- Department Resets:
- Participate in installations and tasks such as building and installing Hallmark fixtures, relocating card departments and products, and resetting card sections.
- Typically notified two weeks in advance for remodel assignments, which may include evenings or weekends.
- One Team Vision: Support other team members as needed in their territories as part of Hallmark's field organization.
Physical Requirements
- Physically demanding role requiring high energy and a sense of urgency.
- Work on the selling floor and in back stockrooms.
- Consistently push, pull, lift, and carry cartons, merchandise, and display fixtures up to 30 pounds throughout the workday and up to 50 pounds on occasion.
- Kneel, squat, walk, and stand throughout the workday; may require climbing stairs and step ladders.
Requirements
- At least 18 years of age.
- Able to read, write, and understand English.
- Ability to grasp, pull, lift, and carry products up to 30 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally.
- Able to operate a digital hand-held device to open and read documents and interpret information.
- Access to a Wi-Fi network and the internet.
- Access to consistent transportation to travel to and between assigned stores as scheduled.
Pay
Starting hourly pay rate: $13.00–$15.00 per hour, depending on skills and experience.
Schedule
- Part-Time position with a variable schedule during the work week.
- Average weekly hours: 2–5 hours per week.
- Availability required the week before and after major holidays, which may include weekends.
- Availability to support season changeovers, extended services, installations, and inventory support.
