About the role
The Westbrook High School is seeking a creative, engaging, and energetic Physical Science teacher to join our science department for the 2026-2027 school year. This is a half-time position.
Responsibilities
- Teach Earth Science and Chemistry courses
- Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with Maine D.O.E 350 standards
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and support student learning
- Work with all students, including those from diverse backgrounds
Requirements
- Maine D.O.E 350 (Physical Science) certification
- Experience as a 9-12 science teacher preferred
- Strong content knowledge in physical sciences
- Willingness to collaborate and support colleagues
- Skilled in working with all students
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Science or related field
- Passport to Maine certification preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
Skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues
- Knowledge of modern teaching methodologies
- Ability to adapt to diverse learning environments
