Hair Stylist/Colorist

About the role

The Midtown spa is seeking a Hair Stylist to join their team. This position requires working nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Provide hair treatments in accordance with established procedures
• Proactively learn and stay updated on new hair trends and techniques
• Maintain cleanliness of spa areas, dispose of trash and dirty lines, and secure supplies at the end of each shift
• Promote and assist in providing spa services to enhance overall satisfaction
• Sell retail products and address guest needs professionally and promptly
• Participate in club programs and events as part of the team
• Adhere to local and state licensing laws and regulations
• Communicate effectively and manage time efficiently
• Show excellent technical styling abilities including blowouts, braids, color, cuts, and formal styling

Requirements

• A minimum of one year of experience as a hair stylist with high proficiency
• Demonstrate strong client service skills with courtesy and attentiveness
• Maintain the physical appearance of the salon and manage supply inventory
• Promote their own work and participate in salon programs and events

Qualifications

• Previous customer service experience preferred
• Personable, friendly, and passionate about hair
• Excellent communication and time management skills
• Reliable and capable of working independently
• Excellent technical styling abilities including blowouts, braids, color, cuts, and formal styling

Benefits

Compensation includes a base pay of $17.05 per hour plus service and product commissions. Midtown is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
