Hair Care Lab Instructor Volunteer

Key Responsibilities

• Facilitate a hands-on Hair Care Lab for youth participants in a safe, supportive, and engaging environment
• Educate participants on basic natural hair care practices, hair textures, and healthy routines
• Lead a guided hair oil–making activity using natural ingredients provided by the program
• Encourage positive self-image, confidence, and cultural pride through age-appropriate discussion
• Model professionalism, inclusivity, and trauma-informed engagement with youth
• Collaborate with the Wellness Tour team to support smooth program delivery

Qualifications

• Experience or knowledge in natural hair care, cosmetology, beauty education, or related fields
• Passion for youth empowerment, wellness, and confidence-building
• Comfortable working with children and teens in group settings
• Strong communication skills and a supportive, encouraging demeanor
• Ability to volunteer for scheduled tour dates in Atlanta
