About the role
Implement Hawaii’s Signature Dual Language Instruction program (Instruction in English 50%/Japanese 50%). Honei Island Education Office (HIEO) is the sole provider of this specialized Program of Study within the HIDOE.
Responsibilities
- Teach dual language instruction in English and Japanese
- Develop and implement curriculum aligned with state standards
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance instructional practices
- Maintain student records and progress reports
- Participate in professional development activities
Requirements
- Minimum Bachelor's Degree
- Valid Hawaii teaching license or Emergency Hire Permit upon hire
- Active pursuit towards meeting Hawaii licensing requirements
Qualifications
- Experience in dual language education preferred
- Strong communication skills in both English and Japanese
- Ability to teach diverse student populations
- Passion for innovative teaching methods

Pay
Compensation: 10-month teachers shall be compensated for the applicable Bargaining Unit 05 10-month salary schedule for working a 10-month work year.
