What You'll Do
- Learn residential construction from the ground up
- Assist with framing, window installation, siding, flooring, painting, and other construction tasks
- Participate in home repair and neighborhood revitalization projects
- Lead and support volunteers on construction sites
- Help create a safe, productive, and positive experience for volunteers and homeowners
- Develop leadership, teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Strengthen communities by helping families access safe and affordable housing

Desired Qualifications
- Willingness to learn Habitat's construction practices and safety procedures
- Positive attitude and commitment to service
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and climb ladders and scaffolding
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
- Reliable travel to assigned service locations
- No prior construction experience is necessary
AmeriCorps Eligibility Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old by the start of service
- Must be a U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, or Lawful Permanent Resident
- Must pass a National Service Criminal History Check before beginning service
- Must hold a high school diploma or GED, be working toward obtaining one during service, or meet another allowable AmeriCorps eligibility pathway
