Habitat for Humanity AmeriCorps Construction - Fall

What You'll Do

• Learn residential construction from the ground up
• Assist with framing, window installation, siding, flooring, painting, and other construction tasks
• Participate in home repair and neighborhood revitalization projects
• Lead and support volunteers on construction sites
• Help create a safe, productive, and positive experience for volunteers and homeowners
• Develop leadership, teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Strengthen communities by helping families access safe and affordable housing

Desired Qualifications

• Willingness to learn Habitat's construction practices and safety procedures
• Positive attitude and commitment to service
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and climb ladders and scaffolding
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
• Reliable travel to assigned service locations
• No prior construction experience is necessary

AmeriCorps Eligibility Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old by the start of service
• Must be a U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, or Lawful Permanent Resident
• Must pass a National Service Criminal History Check before beginning service
• Must hold a high school diploma or GED, be working toward obtaining one during service, or meet another allowable AmeriCorps eligibility pathway
